Client’s Problem: We received an enquiry from truGym to say they were opening a new gym in Gateshead and were looking for a local road marking contractor to white line a car park for their new gym customers.

Our Solution: We visited the site and met the manager of the new gym to have a look at the area and discuss what they were looking to achieve. The area did not have any line markings so the client asked us to come up with a car park line marking layout. We put together a sketch of our proposed car park layout & sent it to the customer along with the quote for the white lining work, which they were happy to go ahead with. The line painting work was complete in one day and on time for the gym opening the following week.

On the day of the works, our road marking operatives first measured the area out and put down chalk marks where all the lines were to go. All the lines were then dried using a thermal compressed air lance. As the surface of the car park was concrete, the lines were primed using a concrete primer which ensures that the line marking paint adheres to the surface properly. Once the primer had dried, the lines were then laid using thermoplastic screed which is a hard-wearing road marking material.

The new parking bay white lining makes it clear where customers are supposed to park, maximizing the number of parking spaces available for customers of the gym. The new double yellow lining also makes it obvious that you are not supposed to park on the entrance road, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring access to the car park is kept clear for customers.

The customer was very happy with the work and has since asked us to do further work in another area.
